(Singing to the “Log” theme from Ren and Stimpy) It’s Blog! Blog! It’s better than bad… IT’S GOOD!
So… how are you today? Good, glad to hear it. Me? I’m better than I was. A new car will do that.
Okay, I said I would clarify what I said about women on Wednesday. Now please, I would like to reiterate before I get into this… this is not how I think all women are. Every rule has exceptions, and this is simply a broad generalization.
There was a dramatic monologue I found on the internet when I was still in college. The title of it was “The Ballad of the Nice Guy.” It’s summed up basically as this: Men are told growing up that they are supposed to be a knight in shining armor. Chivalrous and charming. We should treat woman like the goddesses they are and our reward is that we will never be lonely. The main character then goes into how this is a load of bull. Sure, women like nice guys… to be their friend. For passion, sex, and love women want (for lack of a better term) assholes. Guys that treat them like crap make them all quivery and filled with lust.
My favorite part of the monologue is when the main character is talking about how his girl “friends” call him after some jerk broke their heart. He tells how he comforts them while they rag on all men being jerks.
(Quoted from memory)
ALAN- “They say to me, “Alan, all men are jerks.” Then they realize they are talking to a guy and hit me with “Oh… but not you Alan. You’re a nice guy. When some girl finds you, she’s going to be the luckiest girl in the world. Oh but it can’t be me, because I’m only attracted to guys who are going to shit all over me.”
So there it is in a nut shell. The sad thing is that this is very true. Now of course there are exceptions, and I’ve know one or two girls who this does not apply too. But especially since I’ve moved to California I see it more and more. Hell, shock jock Tom Lykis teaches classes over the radio on how to be a jerk to get women. I listen to him everyday for a few reasons: 1, he’s really entertaining. 2, while I don’t agree with many of his views, there are equally as many I do agree with. He says that “Being a nice guy doesn’t get you laid,” which I have found to be true. He says that if you have money and power nothing else matters and “Women will crawl all over you. You’ll get more ass than a toilet seat.” Is that all women really care about? I’m beginning to wonder. Maybe California is getting to me…
But despite Tom’s teachings I can’t bring myself to be a jerk, the nice guy is firmly entrenched into my being. I’m sure I could shake it off if I really tried, but do I want too?

You are such a terrific and neat guy. There is someone out there for you and you will meet her when the time is right. IT WILL HAPPEN!
Congrats on the new car.
Ha hahahahhah HA HAHA HA HA!
*ahem* Sorry. Let me explain.
YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE ME A FEW MONTHS AGO!
Yes, somewhere back on my blog, actually a few times, I went throught the same things. And it wasn't the first time, of course. I've been through it many other times. It's our curse. Should we just ACT like assholes, or what?
And Lykis kills, man! I wish we could get him out here in the 'Lou.
BTW, I eventually found a few girls that were looking for someone like me. (Too bad one was underage and we could only be friends for practical purposes.) But they are out there. No, I'm not giving you the "just be patient" speech. I'm just telling you that in my 4 years out there, I actually succeeded in finding attractive and nice girls and you probably can, as well. Get the fuck out of the apartment, dammit.
Nix says: I miss Cali.
